Strength & Conditioning


Strength and Conditioning Coaching describes the design, delivery and demonstration of bespoke performance orientated physical preparation programmes.

 

A Strength and Conditioning Coach works with individuals or teams, with the objective of improving performance in a particular sport.

 

The scope of Strength and Conditioning Coaching extends to strength, speed, power, endurance, agility and flexibility.

 

Another important part of Strength and conditioning is to help clients build up a strong athletic foundation, therefore reducing the chance of injuries. Following and injury, correct rehabilitation and conditioning is crucial in order for athletes to have a safe return to any sport.

Qualifications and Experience


I am a UK Strength and Conditioning Association (UKSCA) Accredited Coach, I have previously been the Strength and Conditioning for Bristol Rovers FC Youth Academy and also worked with Cardiff Metropolitan University Athletics, as well as individual clients over many years. 

 

I have particular expertise in injury prevention and rehabilitation, combining qualifications as both a Sports Therapist and Strength and Conditioning Coach. For more information on Sports Therapy, please visit my Sports Therapy page.

Services


Strength and Conditioning group sessions

 

I run weekly Strength and Conditioning sessions at Heavy Metal gym in Ilkley on

 

Mondays at 7.30pm and Thursdays at 7:15pm

 

The sessions are aimed at cyclist, runners and sports people that want to get stronger, improve their balance, coordination and core strength. For additional info and to book click here  These sessions cost £8 pay as you go, or you can buy a discounted block of 10 sessions.  

 

Individuals

 

I offer a free initial 30 minute consultation to meet in person and discuss your sport, your current training programme and to make a basic assessment of your fitness.

 

Coaching can be delivered at either outdoors, in your home or in local gyms in Ilkley dependent upon your training programme.
